Healing with Alchemy & Astrology

Astrology has been used for centuries by our ancient ancestors. This framework allows us to see the wholeness of a person, plant, and their connection to the cosmos. You can better understand plants and how to heal yourself by accessing your birth chart. This system allows you to look at plants by their planetary rules, such as organ systems and healing properties. This type of healing addresses the condition at its core to allow for transformative healing.

3 Principles of Plant Alchemy

Sulfur, Mercury, and Salt. These are the three principles of people, plants, and nature.

Sulfur relates to the soul (essential oils). In plant alchemy, this relates to the soul essence, which permeates all aspects of the plant and can be appreciated through meditations, offerings, etc…

Mercury is the spirit (water and water constituents such as alcohol). The spirit of the plant, also known as the mind, is seen as the energetics of the plant and how it communicates with the body. Attributes can include temperature, moisture, tone, etc…Every plant has certain type of properties that distinguish its medicinal benefits and purpose. These properties usually mirror the environment it grew in.

Salt is the body/building blocks and represents the physical properties of the plant (anything seen with the naked eye).

Sun & Ascendant

When starting to address your birth chart, your sun and ascendant are two to keep in mind.

Your sun sign represents your inner characteristics. This is tied to your innate nature that people you are close to see. Your physical expression.

Your ascendant is the energy you exude and express. When looking at your ascendant, in regard to health, do you have a planet in the first house? Conjunct? This may affect your physical characteristics and the nature of your body in ways such as deficiencies, excess, weakness, and strength. By understanding this, you can develop remedies to replenish deficiencies and decrease excess to health yourself.

Analyzing the Details

Do you have a stellium? This is when 5 or more planets are in a sign. This is usually an indicator that this sign holds stronger than your sun or ascendant. If you find this in your chart, use remedies of opposite signs.

Transit? This explains the physical motion of planets and the relationship between the present position and the birth position. This will help you understand the onset of illness, what triggered the illness, and provide ways to prevent the disease from progressing.

Planets in rulership/exaltation. A planet in its natural environment and the sign is harmonious. Although a planet it exaltation can lead to skills/gifts, it can also lead to excess. Use remedies to lower energy and support this placement to prevent imbalance.

Planets in the 6th house. The 6th house rules your health. Look at planets in the 6th house to understand health issues/concerns.

Everything is Connected

While our ancestors didn’t have modern technology to find all the information easily, they were more connected to the Earth, each other, and their bodies. Everything in nature has the ability to correct itself when given the proper foundations.

Whether you understand astrology or not, you will move in the direction of your destiny. Astrology is a tool that can help us manage our time better in regard to our purpose.
